Equestrian versus Formula 1

The website Legit ranks Big Game Hunting as the only sport more expensive than Equestrian. (I’m happy hunting big game is expensive – maybe a lot of people won’t do it). However, on most websites, it’s Formula 1 racing that ranks closets to Equestrian when it comes to most expensive sport.

Fun Facts:
Formula 1 cars are louder than a rock concert @ 130 decibels (so wear ear protection).
Cars speed at a rate of 230 mph (or 370 kp/h which sounds even faster).
Helmets are made of carbon fiber. (I’d like a riding helmet made of that.)
Tires have a glue-like finish, so they stick to the track. (Would it keep me in the saddle?)
How it got its name – Formula refers to the set of rules that cars and participants must follow. One, or 1, refers to the highest classification in the formula racing tournaments. (Think A Horse Show versus C Horse Show.)

All this racing information makes me think of horsepower. Not the power an engine produces, but the emotional power of horses. Which draws me to this conclusion:
Rider + Horse x $ = Happiness
That’s a formula I can get behind.
